Kaiunsäde

Kaiunsäde plays music by Joose Ojala and Helena Taskila. The band’s debut album Taival was released in 2025 and was well received. Kaiunsäde’s melodic lyrical language meets the harmonic world of jazz and popular music, and their music has often been described as very cinematic. This is a great honour to the band’s main composer Joose Ojala, who was born blind and has only seen a handful of films. He states that this only proves that music knows no sensory borders, prejudices or hierarchies. It’s all about slowing down and experiencing art together. The ensemble features Joose Ojala (accordion), Tuukka Ojala (piano), Helena Taskila (pan flute) and Saija Hostikka (double bass).
