The Christmas tree became an established tradition in the homes of Helsinki’s gentry in the late 19th century. Many families would craft their own Christmas tree decorations every year, and popular Christmas magazines would give crafting tips. The Burgher’s House chamber will feature a workshop for making easy Christmas tree decorations based on authentic 19th century instructions.
