Inehmo
Tapahtuma
-
Inehmo sings Finnish folk poetry set to Finno-Ugric melodies. Their repertoire features striking Mordvin tunes alongside Finnish, Udmurt, Seto, Mari, Karelian, and Ingrian melodies. The songs include creation myths, spells, proverbs, and animal tales. Many touch on themes of aging – widowhood, the passage of time, fading strength, and longing for closeness. The songs are rooted in nature, and many carry a summery atmosphere: a great oak tree grows from a song, boats sail and fish are caught, a swallow builds its nest, a cat plows, and a mosquito hums.
Free admission to the courtyard concerts held at the Burgher’s House. Welcome!
