Ehivaija
Tapahtuma
-
The vocal group Ehivaija blends Finnish folk poetry with the melodies of kindred Finno-Ugric peoples: Seto, Mordvin, Udmurt, Khanty, Hungarian, and Ingrian. Central to Ehivaija’s repertoire are archaic, minimalist Finno-Ugric songs such as bear wake melodies, grinding chants, and fishing songs. Folk poetry takes a stand and carries the singer – it longs for justice, clears safer space, nurtures the freshwater mussel, and weeps at the funeral of nuclear waste.
Free admission to the courtyard concerts held at the Burgher’s House. Welcome!
